Big Lottery Funded Active8 Programme

Following on from the very successful programme last year nine sessions of various recreational taster activities were offered to our Year 10 girls during lunch and after school in June. These sessions were funded by the Big Lottery Fund. The sessions included body conditioning, fitness yoga, spinning, pilates, aerobics, circuit/step workshop, body combat, yoga, kick-boxing, body balance, salsa, street dance and hip-hop workshops. The aim of this programme was to try to encourage the girls to participate in their chosen activity out of school, so encouraging them to lead an active/healthy lifestyle. The programme ended with a day trip to Bath University. Here all the Y10 girls who attended from the various schools in the Mid-Wilts Sport Partnership were mixed together and participated in various workshops run by Team Bath throughout the day.
