You may have seen the charity single on ITV that ‘Wootton Bassett Rocks’ have recorded for four charities.
We are very proud to have the lead singer, Stu Joslin, as a member of our staff. Stu is an ICT technician who also went to school here. Stu explains how he became involved….
“I’ve had strong links with Wootton Bassett for quite a while now, as my band Corinthian Casuals have been playing in various venues in the town for the past few years. When the opportunity came up to get involved with the project, I didn’t hesitate to put myself forward!
The production of the single and video was such an amazing experience from start to finish, and it was absolutely mindblowing to be recording my vocals for the track in the same booth at Real World Studios, in Box, as so many of my heroes had done so before! The video shoot was a long, hard day, as it consists of one continuous shot and everything had to be absolutely perfect in order for it to work – but by the seventh take we had it in the bag, which is not many considering the complexity of the shoot!
I just hope that the single goes on now to raise as much money as possible for the four charities that we have chosen to support. So please get behind us in any way you can, either by downloading the track via iTunes or simply donating through our website which is:
We, as a school, would like to support both Stu and the charity single for the four charities they wish to raise money for with the release of this record. The charities are, The Royal British Legion; Combat Stress; The Undentable Trust and Soldiers, Sailors, Airmen & Families Association (SSAFA).
The school proposes to organise a collection of money for the charity by asking students and staff to donate as much money as they feel they can afford. The school would like to present a cheque by the end of the term. We hope you will agree this is a very worthy cause.
