The school held its formal awards evening on Tuesday 21 October. At this annual event, over 150 students from all Year Groups were recognised for their outstanding achievements during the previous year, receiving engraved glass trophies as a lasting memento of the accomplishment.
This year ex-student Max Goff presented the awards. Originally from Corsham, Max is best known for his work with singer-songwriter, Tom Odell, playing bass guitar, upright bass and as a backing vocalist. Max features on Odell’s No. 1 debut album, ‘Long Way Down’ and has been a permanent fixture in the singer’s touring band since 2010.
Max attended The Corsham School from 2000-2007, during which time he began learning the bass guitar. After deciding to pursue a career in music, Max completed his A-Levels as well as a BTEC National Diploma in music at City of Bath College, spending his spare time playing in local bands.
After this Max studied at Goldsmiths, University of London and graduated with a degree in Popular Music Studies (Bmus) in 2012. It was in this time studying in London that he met Tom Odell and has been working with him since.
