New School Uniform – full details announced

New-School-UniformWe are very pleased to be able to send information home this week to parents/ carers of students in Key Stage 3 giving details of our new uniform. The exciting new design is to be worn by all students in Years 7 to 10 from the start of the new school year in September 2015 – (Year 11 students will be permitted to continue wearing our current uniform).

We have been working on this important development for many months and, after consulting with students, parents, governors and teachers, the final product is now ready to be presented to our parents and students with details of how they can get hold of it in time for the new school year.

Each part of the new uniform has undergone thorough evaluation to ensure that it will be both hardwearing and economical while looking both contemporary and smart for both male and female students. All students who have had a chance to try it on already have said how much they like it and we are confident that many more students and parents will agree.

The information leaflet and information being sent home this week to parents in Years 7, 8 and 9 can be viewed here: New Uniform at The Corsham School Yr 7-9

(Parents of Year 6 students joining us in September will receive full details in their induction pack which is also being sent out shortly. This will include details of a special uniform Sales Event taking place on Tuesday 23rd June.)

Member of staff attempts the Wimbleball Half Ironman

triathlonOn June 28th I will be taking part in the Wimbleball Half Ironman. This consists of a mile and a quarter swim in Wimbleball lake, a 56 mile bike around Exmoor and finishes with a half marathon. My training is going really well and I have entered a few races to prepare me for this event. I came third in The Big T long triathlon on 4th May and 2nd in the brutal Y Fenni – Blaenafon triathlon on 10th May.

I have decided to do it for the charity Scope and fund raising is going well, but if you would like to sponsor me then any donation would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you
Lysa Fairhurst
